Unfortunately, most plan trustees that have gone through a conversion in the past have not experienced a cohesive and coordinated conversion process. In such circumstances it is likely the team they have selected was an impromptu collection of service providers. Such teams may have little or no experience in working together, and their services can often seem uncoordinated and mismatched. This situation arises because the underlying motivation driving these efforts seems to be in “making the sale”, not in providing great service. The end result is that the plan trustees and the participants are the ones who suffer.
