Individual Investment Services

It is very common at Premier for our plan trustees and business owners to also be individual clients. Premier’s Individual Investment and Business Retirement Plan services are unique, yet fully aligned programs that Premier has spent the last twenty years fine-tuning. One of the unique aspects of these two service programs is their relationship to taxes. Retirement plans are not tax-sensitive while individual investments are very tax-sensitive. Premier has been fortunate to have the ability to design tax-managed investment programs layering an added level of value onto our structured asset class portfolios.

This approach produces superior risk adjusted investment portfolios while being flexible and sensitive to current and changing tax issues. From total return distribution techniques, which maximize cash flow to clients in the form of tax-favored long-term capital gains, to the major reduction of unplanned annual gain distributions, our tax-managed approach focuses on net after-tax returns to individual clients. It is not about how much you make, but rather how much you get to keep that counts.

As we already stated in the business retirement plan section, we are co-fiduciaries with plan trustees. This co-fiduciary relationship extends to individual clients as well, who are responsible for private trusts, boards of non-profits, family living trusts and trusts commonly created at the death of the first spouse.

Even with clients who are not fiduciaries themselves, Premier functions as a fiduciary to them. This fiduciary relationship holds Premier accountable for putting our clients' interest first. This is such a unique and important aspect of the relationship between trusted advisors and clients that we say that the first and foremost question you should ask a potential advisor is: “Will you be in a fiduciary relationship with me and my family?” The only acceptable answer is “Yes”.

This is so critical because the only other acknowledged standard in the financial service industry is the salesman standard. Although it is always the client’s choice with whom they will invest for their family’s financial well-being, once given this important information clients seem to have an easy time making a decision — a professional with a salesman standard or one with a fiduciary standard.

Minimum Account Relationship Premier Financial Group is committed to providing the highest level of service and support to each of its clients. To maintain this level of excellence, Premier has established a minimum account relationship of $250,000 for individual investors. However, there are circumstances that can influence the minimum account requirement and they are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
